UnDosTres and Paymentology Advance Embedded Credit and Cards-as-a-Service in Latin America
Mexico, 14 April — Paymentology, the leading next-generation issuer-processor, today announced a strategic partnership with UnDosTres, one of Mexico’s fastest-growing digital payments and credit platforms, to expand embedded credit and digital payment experiences across Latin America.
Born out of a mission to simplify everyday payments such as mobile top-ups, utilities, and essential services, UnDosTres has evolved into a broader financial platform. With a global Mastercard principal licence and growing issuing capabilities, the company is expanding into embedded credit and cards-as-a-service. Through its partnership with Paymentology, UnDosTres combines its payments platform with global, cloud-first issuing infrastructure — enabling real-time card issuing, resilient transaction processing, and contextual credit capabilities for millions of consumers and small businesses across the region. The collaboration also empowers small and medium-sized businesses to issue cards to their own customer bases, unlocking new distribution models for financial services.
Across Latin America, the shift from cash-first to digital-first commerce is accelerating. Digital payments now account for around 60% of consumer spending in the region, while cash usage continues to decline. Yet significant gaps remain: around a quarter of adults still lack access to formal banking, highlighting the continued need for infrastructure that expands access to credit and digital financial services.
The Paymentology–UnDosTres partnership directly addresses these challenges by embedding credit into everyday payment journeys, from utilities and essential services to digital commerce, helping end-users manage cash flow, build financial resilience, and participate more fully in the formal economy.
Arpit Gupta, Co-Founder of UnDosTres, said: “Digital credit is not just about purchasing power — it’s about inclusion, control, and everyday financial resilience. Our partnership with Paymentology enables us to combine deep local market understanding with modern issuing infrastructure to deliver seamless, real-time payment and credit experiences at scale. Together, we’re embedding credit directly into daily life, helping people manage cash flow, access essential services, and participate more fully in the digital economy.”
Alejandro Del Rio, Regional Director for Latam at Paymentology added: “When people can access credit in the moments they truly need it, it changes what’s possible — not just financially, but personally. That’s why this work is about more than payments; it’s about dignity. Our partnership with UnDosTres brings together infrastructure and local expertise to expand access and support more inclusive financial ecosystems across Latin America.”
Through the partnership, UnDosTres is leveraging Paymentology’s scalable issuing platform to:
- Enable real-time credit and payment experiences
- Support secure card issuance and transaction processing at scale
- Strengthen resilience and performance across digital payment flows
- Accelerate product innovation and expansion into new use cases
Embedded credit is emerging as one of the most powerful enablers of digital commerce in Latin America. By integrating credit directly into payment journeys, rather than limiting it to traditional banking channels, fintech platforms can support financial stability, improve customer experiences, and create new pathways into the formal financial system.
The partnership builds on a shared focus on expanding responsible digital credit. Arpit Gupta recently featured on Paymentology’s Issuer Academy podcast episode, Dignity by Design: How UnDosTres is Expanding Access to Credit Across Latin America, which explores how credit is being built differently.
