Partnership with Byte Orbit combines configurable corporate cards, real-time spending controls and AI-powered expense reconciliation
Johannesburg, South Africa 4 November – Paymentology, the leading global issuer processor, has partnered with South African technology company Byte Orbit to power Paystashio, an intelligent spend management platform designed to give small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) greater control over company spending while reducing the administrative burden of managing expenses.
The partnership brings together Paymentology's modern real-time issuer processing technology with Byte Orbit's financial technology expertise, enabling businesses to issue physical and virtual employee cards, set individual spending limits, monitor transactions in real time and automate expense reconciliation.
The launch comes as South African businesses increasingly turn to technology to improve financial management. According to Xero's State of South African Small Business 2025 report, 40% of small businesses using cloud technology say it helps reduce administration or automate tasks, highlighting the growing demand for tools that simplify everyday operations.
Developed from Byte Orbit's own experience of managing company expenses, Paystashio addresses common challenges including shared corporate cards, lost receipts, employee reimbursements and time-consuming manual reconciliation.
With almost two decades of experience developing enterprise-grade banking and fintech solutions, Byte Orbit has designed the platform to give employees greater flexibility while helping finance teams maintain control over expenditure. Through configurable spending limits, digital receipt capture and integrations with accounting platforms like Xero, Sage and QuickBooks (coming soon), Paystashio uses AI to categorise transactions, match supporting information and streamline reconciliation.
